Dr. Evan Lee, Vice President, Global Health Programs and Access at Eli Lilly & Company
Dr. Evan Lee, Vice President, Global Health Programs and Access at Eli Lilly & Company, was recently appointed as the new Private Sector Board Member to the Coordinating Board of the Stop TB Partnership. Lee oversees Lilly’s portfolio of global health activities, including the Lilly MDR-TB Partnership, and brings extensive experience in TB diagnostics and medicine access to the Coordinating Board.
GBCHealth Executive Director Michael Schreiber congratulated Lee on the appointment: “Evan brings a strong personal commitment to the TB cause, one that GBCHealth has seen in action,” Schreiber said. “We commend his leadership in ensuring TB perspectives are well represented on the global stage and look forward to working with him in his new role on the Stop TB Coordinating Board.”
Lee’s appointment to the Private Sector seat was one of five recent constituency appointments to the Coordinating Board, following comprehensive reforms to broaden and strengthen partner engagement at the Board and increase impact in the global fight against TB.
An independent selection committee also appointed representatives for the Developed Country NGOs, Developing Country NGOs, and Communities constituencies.
In addition, South Africa's Minister of Health, Aaron Motsoaledi, was recently elected the Stop TB Partnership Chair. Motsoaledi, who joined the Board in 2010, said he looks "forward to working to forge transformative alliances involving partners from multiple sectors."
Hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO), The Stop TB Partnership is a global collective of over 1,000 partners from more than 100 countries, including technical agencies, government, foundations, NGOs, community groups and the private sector.
