The global health community has made significant progress toward reducing child and maternal deaths (Millennium Development Goals 4 & 5) but in too many countries, poor and marginalized communities are being excluded from these life-saving improvements. With only two years left to achieve the MDGs, concerted action is needed from all sectors to reach those "left behind" and to save the lives of millions of mothers and children.
GBCHealth and World Vision will host this breakfast meeting to gather representatives from across the diverse sectors working on MDGs 4 & 5. The goal is to build upon the successful experiences of the private and not-for-profit sectors to promote innovation and accelerate progress to achieve MDGs 4 & 5, through fresh alliances and approaches in the critical years until 2015.
