GBCHealth, in partnership with BD China (Becton, Dickinson and Company) China and the Sohu.com Charity Channel, launched an HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention campaign in colleges and universities in China in October.
Student groups were invited to develop and submit innovative HIV awareness and prevention messages using their choice of media (video, print, audio, etc.). Social media and other internet channels were used to spread the messages throughout the broader college community, and an online voting process determined the most effective campaign. Winners were awarded at a ceremony in Beijing Normal University on December 1st, World AIDS Day, which featured live entertainment and was attended by government officials as well as representatives from UNAIDS, UNICEF, CHINA CDC and the corporate sector.
GBCHealth’s corporate partners for this campaign were BD China and Sohu Charity. In addition, staff from UNAIDS and UNICEF provided technical expertise and served as judges.
